Free ATS resume checker for every job you open

See how your resume scores against the job description the way a keyword-based applicant tracking system would screen it. The lazee.dev extension gives every job a 0-100 match score with matched and missing keywords, right on the job page, without uploading your resume anywhere.

What the ATS score checks

A plain keyword count rewards stuffing. The checker reads the posting the way it is written: skills under “About us” don’t count, “good to have” is a soft requirement, and “AWS, GCP or Azure” is met by any one of them. How the score works, rule by rule.

  • Skills

Which of the posting's skills you have, split into matched, related (half credit) and missing. Required skills weigh more than nice-to-have ones, and a skill in the job title counts double.

  • Years of experience

The years the posting asks for against the span of your work history. A Senior or Staff title with no stated years assumes the usual number, and says so.

  • Role fit

Whether your titles belong to the same role family and seniority. Full stack sits close to backend and far from sales.

  • Location, visa and work setup

Only when the posting states them, and only against the job preferences you filled in. A hard clash, like needing sponsorship the job can't give, shows a warning and caps the score.

  • Education

A degree requirement, when the posting has one.

  • Your resume PDF

It reads your primary resume on your device and counts what your profile leaves out. Switch resumes to see which version fits the job best.

Check your resume against a job in three steps

  1. Step 1

    Fill your profile once

Sign in on lazee.dev and add your skills and experience, or upload your resume PDF and let it fill the profile for you. The checker needs at least three skills and one job or project.

  2. Step 2

    Open a job

Click the ATS match button on a job listing, the ATS match button in the extension popup, or the ATS Match tab on any application form.

  3. Step 3

Read the score and fix the gaps

See the score, what each part counts and which keywords are missing. Add the skills you really have, then build a tailored one-page resume for the job right under the score.

A tailored resume for each job, free

Under the score, it writes your profile up for that job as a one-page PDF in a classic, ATS-friendly single-column layout: the skills the posting asks for first, its keywords in bold, nothing your profile doesn’t say. Built in the extension, sent nowhere. Why tailoring works.

An AI second opinion, when you want one

The Pro AI rescore reads the job like a recruiter: strengths, gaps and concrete profile fixes, for 6 credits or 0 with your own AI key. Tick “Also polish my tailored resume with AI” (+4 credits) to have its bullets rewritten in the job’s own words. On Free, a Pro Pass unlocks one run.

ATS resume checker questions

Is the ATS resume checker free?

Yes. The match score, the keyword lists and the tailored one-page resume are free and unlimited on the Free plan. Only the optional AI rescore is Pro (6 credits, or 0 with your own AI key); Free users can try it with a Pro Pass.

Is my resume uploaded anywhere when I check it?

No. The score runs offline inside the browser extension, against your cached profile and the resume PDF on your device. Nothing is sent to lazee.dev or to an AI model unless you ask for the AI rescore.

Is this the score a real ATS gives me?

No tool outside the company can see its real ranking. The checker applies the same kind of rules a keyword screen uses, consistently, so you can tell real gaps from missing words before you apply. Treat it as a guide to the first screen, not a prediction of any employer's decision.

Which job sites does it work on?

Any page where the extension finds a job description: popular applicant tracking systems, job boards and most company career pages. You can also paste a description or fetch it from a job link. Popular job boards and the lazee.dev job board get an ATS match button on each listing.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers through the Chrome Web Store, and Firefox through Firefox Add-ons.

How do I raise a low score?

List the skills you already use, fill in your job preferences (work authorization, locations, languages) so unknowns become matches, and attach the resume version that tells the same story. Don't add skills you don't have: a padded profile passes the screen and fails the interview.

Know your match before you apply.

The same extension autofills job applications from your profile, for free. It never submits an application for you.
