Rank every resume against one job, in your browser

Paste a job description, drop the resumes, and see them ranked by how a keyword-based ATS would score each one: a 0-100 match, grouped into strong, good, fair and low, with the skills each one is missing. Free, no account, and no resume ever leaves your browser.

What each resume is scored on

Every resume goes through the same engine as the free ATS resume checker and the lazee.dev extension. It reads the posting by section: skills under “About us” don’t count, “good to have” is a soft requirement, and “AWS, GCP or Azure” is met by any one of them. How the score works.

  • Skills

Which of the posting's skills each resume shows, split into matched, related (half credit) and missing. Required skills weigh more than nice-to-have ones.

  • Years of experience

The years the posting asks for against the span of the dated jobs on the resume. A Senior or Staff title with no stated years assumes the usual number.

  • Role fit

Whether the resume's titles belong to the same role family and seniority as the job. Full stack sits close to backend and far from sales.

  • Location, visa and education

Location, visa and work setup only count when the posting states them, and education when it asks for a degree. There are no job preferences to compare, so nothing is guessed.

  • Grouped and ranked

Strong match is 80 and up, Good 60 to 79, Fair 40 to 59 and Low under 40. Within each group, sort by score, experience or name.

  • Filtered by role

Each resume's titles give its role (frontend, backend, data, design and more), so a mixed pile of applications splits by role in one click.

Screen a stack of resumes in three steps

  1. Step 1

    Paste the job

Add the title and the full description, requirements included. Signed in with the lazee.dev extension, you can read it straight from the job's link.

  2. Step 2

    Drop the resumes

Pick resume PDFs, drop a folder of them, or paste resume text one at a time. Each PDF is read on your device, a few at once, and copies of the same file are flagged.

  3. Step 3

    Read the ranking

Press Screen. Every resume gets a score and lands in its group; open any row for its breakdown and missing skills, then export the list to CSV.

Job seekers: find your best resume for a job

Have a resume for each kind of role? Drop all your versions against one posting and send the one that ranks first. The free lazee.dev extension does the same on every job page, with your full profile, and keeps a resume for each kind of role. Why tailoring works.

Candidates' resumes stay on your computer

The PDFs are read with pdf.js and scored in a background worker inside this tab. Nothing is uploaded to lazee.dev or sent to an AI model, nothing is saved, and refreshing the page clears the list. The CSV is built in your browser too. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Resume screener questions

Is the resume screener free?

Yes. It is free with no account and no limit on how many resumes you screen. There is no AI step, so it uses no credits.

Are the resumes uploaded anywhere?

No. Each PDF is read and scored inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to lazee.dev or to an AI model, nothing is stored, and the list is gone when you refresh or close the page. Export to CSV if you want to keep the ranking.

How many resumes can I screen at once?

There is no set limit. Resumes are read a few at a time and scored in a background worker, so a few hundred stay smooth on a normal laptop; very large batches simply take longer. Each PDF can be up to 10 MB, and the first 6 pages are read.

Which files does it read?

PDFs with real text in them, and resume text you paste. Scanned or image-only PDFs have no text to read, and password-protected PDFs can't be opened: those rows say so. Save Word files as PDF first. Dropping the same file twice is caught and marked as a duplicate.

Can I reject candidates based on the score?

Don't use it as the only reason. The score is an offline keyword estimate from the resume alone and can misread an unusual layout. Use it to decide which resumes to read first, and read the shortlist yourself.

Is this the score our ATS would give?

No tool outside your ATS can see its ranking. The screener applies the same kind of rules a keyword screen uses, the same way for every resume, so you can compare them fairly against one job.

Can I read the job description from a link?

Yes, when you're signed in to lazee.dev with the extension installed: it fetches the job page in your browser. Without it, paste the description.
